Tucson, Arizona celebrated Father’s Day Weekend in Tejano Style at the Casino Del Sol on Friday, June 17.

Honoring all the fathers and Tejanos at this event were Tejano superstars Ram Herrera, David Lee Garza (Cezar Martinez), Los Garcia Bros, Mark Ledesma and Michael Salgado.

An evening in Tucson with a record heat of 114 degrees, but that didn’t stop the artists from playing or dancing on the stage. Los Garcia Bros in their classy Pachuco style giving the crowd plenty of Conjunto to Cezar Martinez doing the washing machine and Ram Herrera singing a classic, “Cuatro Caminos,” with David Lee Garza.

I had the chance to ask Sammy Garcia from Los Garcia Bros what was it like performing at the Casino del Sol?

“It was cool and an awesome time,” he said. “It was my first time performing there and I hope we are invited again.”

Garcia also wanted to thank everyone that was there for all the love and support they have given to Los Garcia Bros.

Ending the show was the headliner Michael Salgado. He had the crowd singing along, singing the ballads and the favorite here in Tucson “La Yaquecita”. After the concert the crowd headed to the Paradisio at the Casino del Sol to enjoy the sounds of the local band La Nuevo Onda and end their fun filled evening.

A sold out notable event enjoyed by many people from as far as Washington state, DJ’s La Chiflada and Johnny Chanklas from Trowdown Mix enjoyed the concert along with many Tejano enthusiasts. Hosting the concert was Melissa SantaCruz and Rico from Tejano 1600 AM. Representing Tejano Nation was DJ Fanny Gurl (KPYT) and DJ Peaches ( TejanosBest.com ) A big thank you to the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and Council Members for a memorable night for everyone.
