The event was announced on Far West San Antonio’s official Facebook page that the club received exclusive right and honor to present the first Joe Lopez benefit dance.

“We will be supporting the legend thru his parole appeal and ask you to join us for this one night of special and close friends playing all his hits,” the club posted.

Entrance into the event is a $10.00 donation to see more than 10 artists supporting the cause. According to the flyer, artists scheduled to attend include Chente Barrera, David Faris, David Marez, Gary Hobbs, Ram Herrera, Sunny Sauceda, Los Desperadoz and more. Far West San Antonio is located at 2502 Pleasanton Road.

Lopez was convicted in 2006 on multiple sex offense charges involving a minor. He was sentenced to 32 years in prison, but because he will serve the sentences concurrently, they amount to 20 years in prison. His full prison term would end on October 27, 2026. He is eligible for parole on October 26, 2016.
