Carlos Y Los Cachorros frontman Carlos Rodriguez talked about his new album Corazon Necio, songwriting inspirations and debuted the album’s title track on Tejano Nation Radio With Romeo on Tuesday (May 31).
Rodriguez gave some details on the new album, including two cover songs.
“We did a song by Michel Telo it’s called ‘Ai Se Eu Te Pego!’, it’s a Portugese song from Brazil, we sang half the song in Portugese and the other half in English, it’s a Reggaeton song,” Rodriguez told Tejano Nation Radio’s Romeo. “We also recorded a cover song, some people might know with Ana Gabriel, some people know it with David Marez, it’s that old school song called ‘Demasiado Tarde’ and we made it into a ranchera, kind of the old style Carlos Y Los Cachorros, real aggressive kind of ranchera style.”
The first single released from the new album is the title track.
“‘Corazon Necio’ is the first track that we released to radio stations and we figured that this is probably the most commercial song,” Rodriguez said. “We found that ‘Corazon Necio’ was that song that had that melody that would stick in people’s heads.”
Corazon Necio is CYLC’s eleventh album and is set to be released at all online digital retailers and local record stores on June 15.
