Singer and songwriter Beatriz Gonzalez has taken a position as on-air personality and board operator at radio station Ultra 104.9 (KJAV-FM) in the Rio Grande Valley.

Gonzalez, who started with the Bi-Media owned radio station on Monday, April 25, will work as board operator and host segments during the 12 – 3 p.m. slot and the “Top 6 at 6” at 6 p.m. on weekdays.

“Being an entertainer at heart, I’ve always had the itch to be an on-air personality,” Gonzalez told Tejano Nation. “I got the opportunity to audition for Ultra 104.9 in McAllen and here I am, another dream come true! I can’t thank the staff enough for believing in me and giving me a shot!”

In January, KJAV-FM rebranded as Ultra 104.9 and ¡Sonamos Diferente!, playing the best in Pop and International Music with a bi-lingual presentation, according the station’s official Faceboook page.

In January, Gonzalez released a video for her third single, “Dime,” a remake of the 2008 Ivy Queen hit.  The Silent Giant artist plans to release a full album in 2016, and it will include a duet with former Kumbia Kings vocalist Frankie J and another collaboration with Colombian singer Osmar Escobar.
