Ricky Valenz talked with Tejano Nation moments before his debut performance as the new lead vocalist for A.B. Quintanilla Y Los Kumbia King Allstarz at Kumbia Fest in Freeport, Texas on Saturday (March 12).

The singer told Tejano Nation contributor Jaime Solis of TejanoMax.com about all different types of emotions he was going through before the performance, his humble beginnings in Michigan, his friendship with A.B Quintanilla and much more.

“This is a beautiful thing,” Valenz told Tejano Nation. “As a musician, as a singer these are the moments you live for.”

The “Esperandote” singer, who is still a part of VMB Music Group and promoting his latest album Realizando Sueños, is excited about his new journey with the band.

“For me to be sharing the stage (with A.B.), about to embark on another journey alongside him and the Kumbia King Allstarz, it’s a great thing,” Valenz added.

Solis has been in the Tejano industry for five years, beginning as an on-air personality at Tejano radio station Majic 95 FM in Victoria, Texas. He soon added television hosting duties at Que Pasa Victoria? showcasing Tejano music and culture in the Victoria area on the local TV show. Solis has also been a major part of the biggest events in the Victoria area teaming up with Salazar Promotions. Solis, who also has his own blog, TejanoMax.com, is excited to join the Tejano Nation team.
