Fiesta De La Flor announces 2016 artist lineup, event details

fiestadelaflor CORPUS CHRISTI – Fiesta de la Flor, a two-day festival celebrating the life and legacy of the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla Perez, announced the artist lineup and event details for the 2016 edition, scheduled for May 6-7 at North Bayfront Park in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ramon Ayala, Erick Y Grupo Massore, Pete Astudillo and Isabel Marie are scheduled to perform on the first night of the festival on Friday, May 6. The Saturday, May 7, lineup boasts four-time Grammy winners La Mafia, legendary artists Fito Olivares and Ruben Ramos, multi-Grammy Award winner Elida Reyna y Avante, Tejano great David Lee Garza and many more.

Last year’s inaugural Fiesta de la Flor was an overwhelming success and hosted more than 52,000 festival-goers with over two-thirds visiting from outside of Corpus Christi. Fiesta de la Flor provided an estimated economic impact of over $13 million. For 2016, the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau (CC CVB) anticipates more than 70,000 fans. Everyone is encouraged to book their accommodations in advance as quickly as possible.

Preparations are underway for this year’s Fiesta de la Flor which will feature new and exciting experiences, including an expanded festival site that incorporates both the American Bank Center and Art Museum of South Texas. The inclusion of these venues within the festival provides more than double the surface area, and also increases entertainment and artistic offerings for festival-goers.

“We are excited about the expanded footprint and elements that have been added to enhance the visitor experience at this year’s Fiesta de la Flor,” CC CVB CEO Paulette Kluge said in a press release. “We look forward to another successful event that celebrates our beautiful Selena and to welcoming visitors from all over the world again in 2016.”

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May, 6 and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at North Bayfront Park in downtown Corpus Christi. Daily General Admission tickets will be available for $10.00 or $15.00 for a two-day pass per festival-goer. Children 7 and under will receive complimentary admission.
