The mother of Roy Garcia, Minnie, passed away on Saturday.

Garcia shared the painful news via Facebook, where the singer talked about his mother’s passing and the special relationship between the two.

“At 5:30 this morning, I witnessed the most heartbreakingly beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, mother was able to finally spread her wings and fly,” Garcia wrote. “I will love her to my last breath and celebrate her every day I live. Being on stage and looking out into the crowd and not seeing my #1 fan will be the most difficult thing, but every song will now be for you. Rest in beautiful peace mom.”

Garcia’s mother was recently moved from the hospital to be placed on hospice in the comfort of her home to be surrounded by loved ones.

“Thank you everyone for all your thoughts, prayers and messages, my family and I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you,” Garcia posted on Facebook.

The former Liberty Band and Grupo Vida vocalist recently released “Contento,” the first single off his upcoming solo debut album, Solo, scheduled to released before the end of the year.

Tejano Nation would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the Garcia family and friends.
