VICTORIA, TX – Lopez Broadcasting radio station Majic 95.9 gave away 400 hundred turkeys and more during the Tejano radio station’s 13th annual turkey drive on Tuesday night.

The event featured Tejano stars, station personalities and volunteers handing out food for those in need and those willing to wait in line for hours to receive a frozen turkey for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Tejano stars on hand included Solido, 2015 Grammy winners for Best Tejano Album, and Grupo Imagen, 2015 Tejano Music Awards winner for Best New Group.

“So many people have come together for this event,” Grupo Imagen vocalist and accordionist Silvia Navarro posted on the band’s official Facebook page. “We also humbly donated green beans and mashed potatoes! So honored to be a part of this!”

The band donated 200 boxes of mashed potatoes and cans of green beans for the event.

The event was started 13 years ago by Majic 95.9 personality Sammy “The Iceman” Hernandez and the radio station has continued the event every year.
