AUSTIN – The next auditions for the 2015 edition of Tejano Idol have been set for July 18, 2015 at two locations in McAllen.
The Austin Tejano Music Coalition, the non-profit organization that sponsors Tejano Idol, is in search of future Tejano Music stars. The statewide singing contest has been initiated to highlight Tejano Music and showcase unknown talent. Amateur singers of all ages are asked send an email to Aggie Saldana-Sanchez, at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you plan to attend this audition.
Auditions are on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in McAllen from 10:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. at Downtown Lounge, 200 S. 7th Street, then from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Carlos y Jose’s Restaurant, 5000 N. 23rd Street.
More Tejano Idol auditions are set for later this summer in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. The Tejano Idol finale will take place at H&H Ballroom on October 18, 2015, in Austin at 2:00 p.m.
Past Tejano Idol contestants include 2011 winner Ashley Borrero and 2011 contestant Angel Gonzalez, both now with Angel Gonzalez y Grupo Vimana, 2012 runner-up Devin Banda, 2013 contestant Marisa Cortez and 2014 winner Erica Rangel.
