FLORESVILLE, Texas — Rising Tejano singer and actress Hailey Grace Ochoa is introducing a new generation to her family’s musical legacy with the release of “Mini Barbie,” a vibrant Tejano-pop single featuring Papi Chulos.
The song showcases the 11-year-old performer’s developing musical identity while connecting her to a family tradition that spans four generations. The release is associated with Cielo Azul, the group in which Ochoa serves as a lead vocalist and performing member, and also features Erick Pastrano.
Written by Pastrano and Danny Moreno, “Mini Barbie” blends an upbeat Tejano-pop sound with a playful visual concept designed to highlight Ochoa’s youthful personality and stage presence.
The accompanying music video pays homage to her hometown of Floresville, Texas, following a group of girls as they explore a colorful, energetic world. The production adds a visual dimension to Ochoa’s growing career as a young recording artist and live performer.
A Fourth-Generation Tejano Music Legacy
While Ochoa is establishing herself as an emerging voice in Tejano music, her connection to the genre reaches back decades. She is the granddaughter of Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame bajista Raymond R. Narro Jr., and her family’s musical history dates to 1957.
Through her work with Cielo Azul, Ochoa continues that tradition while bringing her own youthful perspective to the group’s performances and new music.
Her involvement in the family’s musical legacy reflects the continuing influence of previous generations while opening the door for younger audiences to discover Tejano music through a fresh, contemporary sound.
With “Mini Barbie,” Ochoa adds another chapter to that history, balancing the traditions that shaped her musical upbringing with a Tejano-pop style of her own.
Building a Career in Music and Acting
Beyond the recording studio and live stage, Ochoa is also pursuing opportunities as a working actress.
The young Texas performer has appeared in several national and regional television commercials and recently signed with a Los Angeles talent agency representing young performers. Her acting work adds another dimension to a career that already includes singing, music videos and live performances.
Balancing school, family and professional commitments, Ochoa is developing her talents across multiple areas of entertainment while continuing to perform with Cielo Azul.
Her progress represents an early step in a career that combines music, acting and a deep connection to her family’s cultural roots.
As a fourth-generation musician, Ochoa is growing up within a tradition that has helped shape her artistic journey. With the release of “Mini Barbie,” she is taking that legacy into a new era, introducing her own personality and sound to the evolving Tejano music scene.
The single and its accompanying music video mark another milestone for the young performer as she continues building her presence in Tejano-pop while honoring the family tradition that began nearly seven decades ago.
