La Calma Pushes Back Release of Highly Anticipated New Single ‘Esta Noche,’ Drops Music Video Teaser

Tejano fans eager to hear La Calma‘s highly anticipated new single “Esta Noche” will have to wait one more week.

The award-winning Tejano group announced Tuesday that the release of the new single and its accompanying music video has been postponed until Wednesday, Aug. 5, instead of the originally announced July 29 release date. While the news may disappoint fans counting down the days, frontman Leo Correa Jr. assured supporters the delay is simply the result of final approvals from digital streaming platforms and that the wait will be worth it.

Correa shared the update during a live social media video, explaining that although the music video is completely finished, the band wants to release both the song and video simultaneously once every digital platform is ready.

“Everything’s a hundred percent done,” Correa said. “I just feel like there’s no reason for me to release the music video and then the music later. I’d rather release everything together—the music video and the song. It’s going to be available on all digital platforms.”

According to Correa, the delay stems from the approval process required by digital streaming platforms (DSPs), which includes artwork, metadata, licensing, and other behind-the-scenes requirements that listeners rarely see.

“We just got the approval,” he explained. “There’s so much stuff behind the scenes that people don’t know. Everything has to line up.”

Rather than releasing the music video first, La Calma opted to hold everything until the official digital release date assigned by its distribution partners.

Fans Respond with Support

The postponement comes after weeks of heavy promotion from La Calma and its label partners, with social media flooded by graphics and reminders announcing the original July 29 release date.

Correa acknowledged the change and apologized directly to fans.

“I know I’ve been posting like crazy. My marketing team has been throwing out flyers left and right saying the 29th, but it’s not going to happen. It’s going to happen on the 5th. I promise you I’m not going to come back live and say we’re going to push it again.”

Despite the delay, excitement surrounding “Esta Noche” continues to build. Shortly after announcing the postponement, the band released a teaser for the upcoming music video, giving fans their first glimpse of the visual production while keeping anticipation high ahead of next week’s premiere.

Correa also encouraged fans to subscribe to La Calma’s YouTube channel and follow the band, its members, and its record label family—including Musica Records, Regio Mex, and Lone Star Records—for updates leading up to release day.

A Team Effort Behind “Esta Noche”

During the livestream, Correa took time to recognize the musicians, producers, and staff who helped bring the project to life.

He gave special thanks to producer Richard Rosales, Ruben Robles, Chato, Fernando Sanchez, the studio musicians, and every member of La Calma, crediting the entire team for helping elevate the band’s newest release.

Correa also expressed gratitude to the fans who have supported La Calma since its formation in 2008.

“The true fans are going to love this song,” he said. “Thank you to every single one of you that continue to share. Without y’all, what would become of La Calma? We love you all.”

Continuing a Winning Formula

Founded in San Antonio, Texas, in 2008 by vocalist Leo Correa Jr. and producer/multi-instrumentalist Eddie Perez, La Calma has become one of modern Tejano music’s most recognizable acts by blending traditional accordion-driven Tejano and Norteño sounds with contemporary production.

The band’s 2009 debut album, Ya Llegó, introduced audiences to its energetic style, which has since produced a string of successful singles including “Entonces Que Somos,” “Letal,” “Yo Quiero de Ti,” “Perdóname,” and the regional chart-topper “La Más Chula del Condado.”

La Calma has also earned praise for collaborations such as “Échame La Culpa,” featuring Stefani Montiel and Gabriel Zavala.

Earlier this year, the band welcomed former Grupo Siggno standout Checo Tabares, who made his live debut with La Calma during the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair, adding another exciting chapter to the group’s evolving lineup.

Now, with “Esta Noche” officially slated for Aug. 5, fans won’t have to wait much longer to hear what Correa believes will be one of La Calma’s strongest releases yet. If the music video teaser is any indication, the band is preparing to deliver a polished release worthy of the extra wait.
