Angelica Y Moneda is turning up the excitement for its highly anticipated TejaNova project with the release of its new single, “Aquí Estaré,” a dance-ready track that highlights the band’s renewed commitment to traditional Tejano music.
During a recent interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Tejano Music Award-winning vocalist and frontwoman Angelica Alcoser shared details about the new release, describing it as a vibrant collaboration that captures the heart of classic Tejano while adding a fresh spark.
“We’re dropping a new single called Aquí Estaré,” Alcoser said. “That single was written by our producer, Michael Rodriguez, Boo Real Villarreal and Liza Ybarra, which I’ll have that information posted when we release the song.”
One of the song’s standout features is the addition of renowned saxophonist Valentino Maltos, whose performance brings a dynamic new element to the band’s sound.
“We also included a saxophone player, Val,” Alcoser said. “I’ve never had a saxophone on any of our music—not as predominant as it is on this one.”
She recalled how producer Michael Rodriguez pitched the song.
“Mikey said, ‘Imagine if Emilio, Selena and DLG (David Lee Garza) had a baby… or Jay Perez had a baby,’” she laughed. “It just has that feel. You can just dance. It’s going to be a very danceable song.”
TejaNova: Honoring tradition while embracing a new chapter
“Aquí Estaré” serves as the second single from TejaNova, the band’s upcoming project that reflects both its musical roots and its evolving identity.
Originally planned for completion earlier this spring, Alcoser said the group made the decision to prioritize quality over rushing the release.
“We had hoped to be done with our EP on May 31st,” she explained. “But Tweet and I are gigging musicians, our producer is a gigging musician, and everyone got really busy. We didn’t want to rush the project and just throw something together. We always want to put out the very best product that we can.”
The extra time has allowed the band to refine its vision—and perhaps even expand beyond its original plans.
“It may go from an EP to a full album now that we have more time,” Alcoser revealed.
A fresh burst of Tejano
The title TejaNova represents exactly what Angelica Y Moneda hopes listeners will experience.
“Nova is like a star, so we combined Tejano and Nova,” Alcoser explained. “We wanted a title that reflected both our heritage and our evolution. A nova represents a brilliant new burst of light, so combining Tejano and Nova gave us TejaNova—a fresh chapter while staying true to the music we love.”

The project’s first single, “Ojalá Que No,” introduced fans to the band’s traditional Tejano direction. With “Aquí Estaré,” Angelica says listeners will hear even more of that classic dancehall sound.
“This EP is very Tejano roots-driven,” she said. “It’s very traditional Tejano. If you like to dance, you’re going to love this EP.”
The project reunites Angelica Y Moneda with producer Michael Rodriguez, who also produced the band’s La Casa de Moneda EP. Alcoser praised Rodriguez’s collaborative approach in the studio.
“He loves sitting down, throwing ideas on the table and creating music naturally,” she said. “I think you’re going to hear that in this project.”
Rising force in Tejano music
Formed in 2023, Angelica Y Moneda has quickly become one of Tejano music’s fastest-rising acts, pairing Latin Grammy-winning accordionist Arthur “Tweet” Juarez Jr. with powerhouse vocalist Angelica Alcoser.
The band continues to build momentum following Alcoser’s recognition as Best Vocal Performance at the Premios Tejano Mundial 2025. She also captured Best New Female Artist at the 42nd Annual Tejano Music Awards and Top New Female Artist at the 2022 My Tejano Awards.
With “Aquí Estaré” now available and TejaNova on the horizon, Angelica Y Moneda is poised to deliver one of the year’s most anticipated traditional Tejano releases—one built for the dance floor while celebrating the timeless sound that continues to define the genre.
