MIAMI — The 38th annual Premio Lo Nuestro delivered an unforgettable celebration of Latin music on February 19, honoring chart-topping artists, legendary icons, and breakthrough stars in a star-studded ceremony broadcast live on Univision, UNIMÁS, and Galavisión, and streamed on ViX across Latin America.
Hosted by Thalía, Nadia Ferreira, and Clarissa Molina, the night spotlighted the songs, collaborations, and cultural moments that defined the year in Latin music.
Bad Bunny and Carín León Dominate
Bad Bunny emerged as the night’s top winner, taking home six awards including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“DTMF”), and Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. He also claimed Urban – Male Artist of the Year, Pop/Urban – Song of the Year, and Tropical – Collaboration of the Year for “Café Con Ron” with Los Pleneros De La Cresta.
Following closely behind was Carín León with five major wins, including Mexican Music – Male Artist of the Year and Mexican Music – Song of the Year for “El Amor de mi Herida.” His genre-blending collaborations, including “Lost in Translation” with Kacey Musgraves and “Vivir Sin Aire” with Maná, also earned top honors.
Other multiple winners included Karol G, Maluma, and Yuridia, each securing three awards across major categories.
Rio Grande Valley’s Grupo Frontera Earns National Spotlight
Adding to the celebration was a proud moment for Texas. Rio Grande Valley-based Grupo Frontera captured Música Mexicana Fusion of the Year for “No Capea,” their collaboration with rising star Xavi.
The win marks another milestone for Grupo Frontera, whose genre-blending sound continues to bridge regional Mexican roots with contemporary influences, elevating the Valley’s presence on the global Latin music stage. Their recognition at Premio Lo Nuestro further solidifies their impact as one of the most influential young acts in Música Mexicana today.
Honoring Legends and Cultural Icons
This year’s ceremony also featured a historic lineup of Special Awards recognizing artists whose careers have shaped the evolution of Latin music.
Arcángel received the Urban Icon Award, while Juanes was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Los Bukis earned the Musical Legacy Award, producer Manolo Díaz received the Visionary Award, and Paloma San Basilio was presented with the Premio Lo Nuestro Award for Excellence.
Tributes throughout the evening celebrated their enduring influence, featuring powerful performances from some of today’s biggest names.
Show-Stopping Performances
Music took center stage with exclusive television premieres and high-energy collaborations. Marc Anthony opened the show with the global television premiere of “Como en el Idilio,” joined by Nathy Peluso for his first original salsa duet with a female vocalist in over three decades.
Other standout moments included performances by Cristian Castro alongside Matisse, Kany García with Maluma, and Carín León’s TV premiere of “Lado Frágil.”
The night closed with an explosive finale featuring Ryan Castro, Kapo, and J Balvin.
From emotional tributes to cross-genre collaborations and career-defining wins, Premio Lo Nuestro 2026 once again proved why it remains one of Latin music’s most influential and celebrated award shows — and for Texas fans, Grupo Frontera’s big win made the night even sweeter.
