SEGUIN, Texas — The Campos Family of The Conjunto Cats is leaning on faith, family, and the Tejano music community after a devastating house fire turned their lives upside down.
On February 11, 2026, Art and Linda Campos experienced a tragic event when their home caught fire due to an electrical malfunction, according to a GoFundMe page created to assist the family. Thankfully, no one was injured.
While the family is grateful that everyone is safe, the road ahead will not be easy. Their home is currently unlivable, and they are facing significant out-of-pocket expenses as they begin the long process of recovery and repairs.
“Their rough journey has just begun. Their home is not livable and they will have to come out of pocket for many expenses until their home gets repaired,” the GoFundMe page states. “Anyone who knows Art, Linda, and their children knows how humble and generous they are. Even as we speak, instead of disappointing the fans that are counting on the gigs already booked, they are on the way to fulfill their obligations. This is how much love they have for their fans.”
Based in Seguin, Texas, The Conjunto Cats have built a reputation for keeping the traditional conjunto and música norteña sound alive. Led by Art Campos, the family-centered group features his sons and close relatives, delivering energetic performances driven by accordion, bajo sexto, and drums. Known for their original polkas and classic covers, the band has long been a staple at dances, festivals, and community events across Texas.

More than musicians, the Campos family has consistently shown up for others — supporting benefits, fundraisers, and community causes whenever called upon. Now, the same community they’ve uplifted is stepping forward to help them in their time of need.
“We are trying to come together as a community to help them in their time of need. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, that would be greatly appreciated. Even if you cannot make a donation, prayers would be greatly appreciated,” the GoFundMe page adds.
As Tejano and Conjunto music fans know, this community is built on heart, unity, and generosity. Any support — big or small — can make a meaningful difference for the Campos Family as they begin to rebuild.
For those wishing to contribute, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with immediate expenses and recovery efforts.
