
San Antonio — proudly known as the Tejano Music Capital of the World — is once again at the heart of the genre as the 6th annual Premios Tejano Mundial officially announce the Top 5 nominees across fan-voted and industry categories. This year’s nominations are led by a tie for most nominations, with Asalto, Jai Sterling and Ricardo Castillon of La Diferenzia each earning five nominations, underscoring their broad influence across multiple styles and disciplines within Tejano music.
Close behind the leaders are several standout artists with four nominations each, including Stefani Montiel, Gary Hobbs, and Jesse Turner of Siggno, highlighting a competitive year that reflects both the genre’s established stars and its modern evolution.
The highly anticipated awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium (901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd.). The evening will feature live performances by top Tejano artists, along with special tributes and presentations celebrating the genre’s legacy while looking toward its future.
