Jessica Ramos, granddaughter of Tejano music icon “El Gato Negro” Ruben Ramos, is making her official debut with the single “Bluetooth”, a vibrant Cumbia reinterpretation of the 2024 mariachi hit by Latin superstar Becky G and Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea. The track also features a special collaboration with “The Charanga King” Hugo Guerrero, adding even more depth to Ramos’ first professional release.
“I want to thank everyone for all of the love and support—it truly means a lot to me,” Ramos shared. “I’m so excited to finally share with you all that my new single ‘Bluetooth’ is officially OUT NOW! This track has been in the works for a while, and I’m so thrilled that I’m finally able to share it with you all.”
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, the 20-year-old singer comes from the renowned Ramos family of musicians, which includes her Grammy-winning grandfather. Her early introduction to mariachi music sparked a lifelong passion for performing, leading her to study violin and vocal performance throughout middle and high school.
While attending college at Texas State University, Jessica felt the pull back to her Tejano roots after participating in events produced by her father. With his guidance, she embarked on recording her first single, blending her classical training with the rich traditions of her family’s musical legacy.
Jessica’s influences are as diverse as her talents, drawing inspiration from her grandfather, stepfather, Tejano legend Selena, rising star Angela Aguilar, and international powerhouse Adele. She is also an active member of her family’s mariachi group and recently performed with Ana Gabriel during tour stops, showcasing her versatile vocal abilities.
Jessica Ramos aims to continue honoring her roots while carving out her own space in the Tejano music scene. Her plans for the future include completing a debut album that highlights her vocal range and pays tribute to the musical influences that shaped her journey.
“Bluetooth” is now available on all streaming platforms.
