EDINBURG, TX — Tejano superstar Elida Reyna is preparing for an emotional homecoming as she performs her final Rio Grande Valley show at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, on November 8, 2025. The concert is one of only two remaining dates on Elida Reyna Y Avante’s Farewell Tour, marking the end of an extraordinary 34-year touring career.
The two-time Latin GRAMMY Award winner and the most decorated artist in Tejano Music Awards history—with an unmatched 42 awards—will officially retire from touring at the end of the year.
Elida recently shared exciting news about the special night, revealing that she’ll be joined on stage by none other than Tejano legend Elsa Garcia.
“Hi everyone, we have some exciting news. For the first time ever, I’ll be sharing the stage with the legendary Elsa Garcia, an icon in the music industry,” Reyna said. “We have something special, fun, and unforgettable planned for you. Do not miss this once-in-a-lifetime performance.”
Garcia, affectionately known as “La Primera Dama” (The First Lady) of Tejano music, added, “Honored to be joining the Elida Reyna Y Avante farewell tour.”
The performance also marks another milestone in Garcia’s celebrated comeback. After a 25-year hiatus, she returned triumphantly to the stage in 2024, captivating audiences at Nortex Live in Monterrey, Mexico, and the Vegas Tejano Takeover in Las Vegas. Garcia made history as the first female producer in Tejano music, breaking barriers for women in a male-dominated genre. She rose to fame in the 1980s, earning a GRAMMY nomination for her 1991 album Simplemente and cementing her status as one of the most influential figures in Tejano history.
Elida Reyna’s upcoming Edinburg concert promises to be one of the most meaningful nights of her career, filled with special guests and surprises to celebrate her legacy alongside the fans who have supported her since the beginning.
Beyond her countless accolades and timeless hits, Elida hopes her impact goes deeper than music.
“I want to be remembered as a good person,” she shared. “Someone who made a difference. Someone who felt like family through music.”
Tickets for Elida Reyna Y Avante’s Farewell Tour in Edinburg are available at BertOgdenArena.com. The tour will officially conclude with a grand finale at San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre on December 12.
As Elida Reyna takes her final bow, she leaves behind a legacy defined by faith, strength, and authenticity, forever securing her place among the most beloved icons in Tejano music.
