VICTORIA, TX — For almost 30 years, Lilo “The Doc” Arguellez has been one of the most recognizable and beloved voices across Tejano airwaves. From classic hits to breaking new artists, Lilo’s warm personality, deep musical knowledge, and genuine connection to his listeners have made him more than just a broadcaster — he’s become family to the Tejano community.
But beyond the microphone, Lilo’s impact runs even deeper. Together with his wife, Krissey, he has quietly spent years volunteering, supporting local causes, and showing up whenever someone in the community needed a helping hand. The couple are also the proud guardians of their beloved grandson, Mason, who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum — a role they embrace with endless love and dedication.
Now, the Arguellez family needs the community’s support.
Recently, Krissey was diagnosed with a serious back condition that has caused unbearable pain, dangerously high blood pressure spikes, and fainting spells. Doctors have made it clear — she needs urgent back surgery to prevent her condition from worsening and to regain her quality of life. Most importantly, the surgery will allow her to continue caring for Mason, ensuring he receives the stability and nurturing he needs.
However, the cost of the surgery, recovery, and time away from work has placed a tremendous financial strain on the Arguellez family. Despite years of giving to others, they now face a burden they simply cannot carry alone.

In an emotional moment, Lilo shared the depth of his devotion:
“I’m ready to sell my truck, my house — whatever it takes — just so Krissey isn’t in pain anymore. I’ve made arrangements to make payments to the hospital and anesthesiologist. I know it will be hard to make those payments. But the doctor still needs $4,000 before he will schedule her surgery.”
For those who know Lilo, this comes as no surprise. He has always been the first to lend his time, his platform, and his heart to help others — from local charity drives to community fundraisers. As the General Manager and Program Director for Lopez Broadcasting’s Magic 95.9 FM in Victoria, Texas, Lilo continues to host his weekday show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., uplifting his listeners and spreading positivity across the Tejano community.
Now, it’s our turn to give back to him.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help the Arguellez family cover Krissey’s surgery costs and related expenses. Every donation — no matter the amount — will help ease their burden and give Krissey a chance to live pain-free once again. The surgeon needs payment by October 27 at 4:00 p.m. or the surgery will be cancelled.

I’m recovering from being run over by a truck, but as a former broadcast engineer and DJ, I chipped in. I will keep your family in my prayers and share your story. I was sad to see that no one had contributed yet, I hope it picks up soon. Prayers to all!
