RIO GRANDE CITY, TX — The award-winning group Solido returns with a brand-new single and music video, “Sigues Igualita,” marking the beginning of an exciting new musical chapter for the beloved Rio Grande City band.
Formed by six talented musicians — Benjamín “Ben” de León (lead vocals), Rolando “Rolo” Benavidez (second vocals and percussion), Fernando Treviño (bass), Raymundo Jhonson (bajo quinto), Romeo Ramírez (accordion), and Armando “Chikis” Garza (drums) — Solido rose to fame in 2000 with their breakout hit “Hasta la cima del cielo.” The song became a modern classic of Norteño and Tejano music, establishing Solido as one of the genre’s most influential bands of the 2000s.
Their second album, “Nadie Como Tú,” earned them a GRAMMY Award in 2001, while their follow-up project “Vuelve” received a Latin GRAMMY nomination, solidifying their place among Tejano music’s elite.
Now, with “Sigues Igualita,” written by Aarón “La Pantera” Martínez and collaborators, and produced by Ben de León, Rolo Benavidez, and Luis Demetrio Herrera, Solido showcases a fresh and innovative sound. The new release blends their romantic, danceable Tejano-Norteño fusion with contemporary touches — a signature that has defined their success for over two decades.
The single and its accompanying video were released under Estaff Music, led by Carlos Taffinder, who now joins Solido in steering this exciting new phase of their musical journey.
With “Sigues Igualita,” Solido continues to honor its roots while embracing evolution — proving once again why they remain one of the most respected and beloved groups in Tejano music today.
