San Antonio singer Jenny B will represent Tejano and Latin music on a major stage this weekend as she performs the national anthem before the Carolina Panthers game in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 5. The performance comes just ahead of kickoff at 1:00 p.m. EST.
Jenny B sat down with KENS 5 news anchor Sarah Forgany to talk about the milestone moment, her music journey, and what’s next for the pop-Tejano artist.

“Jenny B is a pop Tejano artist, a mom of two, a wife, and just, you know, a woman, a strong woman trying to chase her dreams. That pretty much sums me up,” she said during the interview.
The San Antonio native, who grew up on the city’s northwest side and graduated from John Paul Stevens High School, shared how the NFL opportunity came about. “I have a really good friend, his name is Smoothvega from Fort Worth, Texas. Known him since 2019. And, you know, he’s one of those people that knows people. And so he submitted my name to perform. And here we are now.”
Lorenzo Zenteno, also known as award-winning Fort Worth hip-hop artist and concert promoter Smoothvega, has been involved in the music and entertainment scene for over 15 years and is known as the “guy behind the guy” forming strong alliances within the entertainment industry.
Jenny B also reflected on the importance of family support as she navigates the music industry. “I grew up with it, specifically in Tejano. And I’m just very grateful that I have family members that, you know, understand. They understand the music. They understand what comes with it. So they understand the support is very important to me.”
Her debut album, Mujer Sensual, has already generated buzz and is expected to earn her a nomination for Best New Female Artist at the upcoming 45th Tejano Music Awards in Katy, Texas, next month. “It’s been out almost already a year. Very proud of that project. And there’s plenty more to come. I mean, I’m an independent artist. So, you know, anybody looking to sponsor an independent artist, hopefully a Texas tour next year. I don’t know. We’ll see. So big things are to come.”
