Tejano superstar Bobby Pulido has announced that Grammy-winning guitarist Chris Pérez will join him on stage for the Corpus Christi stop of his farewell Por La Puerta Grande Tour on Saturday, October 11, at the Selena Auditorium.
Pulido shared the news with fans on social media this week, writing, “Corpus Christi, this one means so much. On October 11th at the Selena Auditorium, I’ll take the stage for the last time in Corpus… and I’m honored to share it with the incredible Chris Pérez. This night is for you, Corpus! Let’s sing it loud one last time together.”
The announcement included a video message from Pérez expressing his excitement to perform alongside Pulido. “I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to jam with my boy. Love him. I love you guys. I’ll see you there. October 11th. Don’t forget.”
The Corpus Christi date comes during the final months of Pulido’s farewell tour, as the Latin Grammy winner prepares to retire from music at the end of 2025 after a remarkable 30-year career. Pulido has shared plans to pursue public office in 2026, announcing his candidacy for the 15th Congressional District of Texas.
Select stops on the tour have featured Pulido’s legendary father, Roberto Pulido, who is also saying goodbye to the stage after five decades in Tejano music. However, the 75-year-old pioneer recently suffered a fall that broke five ribs, forcing him to miss recent performances. He is currently recovering at home while Bobby continues the farewell tour through the end of 2025.
Earlier this year, Bobby Pulido released a live duets double album, Bobby & Friends – Una Tuya y Una Mía, which earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album. He also plans to release a final studio album in 2026 to close his musical career.
Chris Pérez is a Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter best known as a member of Selena y Los Dinos and as the husband of the late Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. He later formed the Chris Pérez Band, earning a Grammy Award in 2000 with Resurrection and is currently a member of Grupo Metal.
