Lucky Joe Releases ‘Zombie’ For Spooky Season

Freddie Records has officially released “Zombie,” the brand-new single from Latin Grammy-nominated Tejano and Norteño artist Lucky Joe. The track hits Tejano and Regional Mexican radio today (September 24) and is now available on all major digital platforms.

“Zombie” is featured as a bonus track on the special edition of Lucky Joe’s latest album, A Tu Lado Soy Feliz – Canciones Del Corazón Edición Especial. Written by renowned songwriter Eduardo “Yayo” Anguiano, the Norteño cumbia blends infectious rhythms with heartfelt lyrics about lost love, emotional turmoil, and the emptiness of life after heartbreak.

In an interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Lucky Joe shared how the track caught his attention.

“This one caught my eye because it’s called ‘Zombie,’” he said. “Once I got to listening to it, I was like, man, this is a really good song. It’s basically saying that the guy feels like he’s turning into a zombie because he doesn’t eat anymore, he can’t sleep, his soul is broken. With Halloween right around the corner, we thought it would be great to record and release it.”

The single comes alongside the re-release of A Tu Lado Soy Feliz, which now includes four new songs, including the viral TikTok hit for the title track “A Tu Lado Soy Feliz.”

Lucky Joe also revealed details about the highly anticipated music video, premiering Friday, September 26, on the Freddie Records TV YouTube channel.

“It’s not your typical video,” Lucky Joe explained. “As it goes along, I’m gradually turning into a zombie. By the final shot, I’m in full makeup with the contacts, like the cover art. We filmed at this medieval castle-type location, and it looks pretty cool.”

A Weslaco, Texas native, Lucky Joe has become one of the most charismatic voices in Tejano and Norteño music since launching his solo career in 2012. With seven acclaimed albums and a 2018 Latin Grammy nomination for Tu Príncipe, his latest release once again showcases his creativity and versatility.

“Zombie” proves Lucky Joe isn’t afraid to take risks — even if it means stepping into the undead — to give fans something memorable for spooky season.
