Legendary Tejano radio personality Jonny Ramirez was inducted into the San Antonio Radio Hall of Fame on Saturday (September 20), honoring a career that has spanned decades and left an indelible mark on the Alamo City’s airwaves.
Best known as the longtime KXTN 107.5 morning host for over 20 years, Ramirez helped propel the iconic Tejano station to the top of the San Antonio market ratings. His radio journey has also included stops at stations such as KRUV, KITM, KTEX, KOOL 99, KLTN, KVSR, and KLEY, showcasing his versatility and passion for broadcasting.

Today, Ramirez continues to keep the Tejano tradition alive as a host on Tejano 95.7 FM in San Antonio and co-host of Fierro HD in the Dallas and Houston markets alongside his longtime on-air partner, J.D. “Bo Leo” Gonzalez. He also co-hosts The Radio Guys Podcast with former KXTN co-host Mico Rodriguez, who received his own Hall of Fame induction in 2023.
Although Ramirez was unable to attend this year’s induction ceremony, San Antonio radio legend Henry “Pepsi” Peña accepted the honor on his behalf.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Ramirez expressed his gratitude:
“My heartfelt thanks and grateful beyond words for my induction into the San Antonio Radio Hall of Fame! Thank you to SoSARB, as always special thanks to my listeners, and this incredible community for trusting my voice and allowing me to not only entertain you but to tell our stories, and help our community. Honored and most definitely humbled to join SA’s radio legends and keep the mic hot!”
With his signature voice, unwavering commitment to his listeners, and decades of contributions to Tejano radio, Jonny Ramirez now rightfully stands among the legends of San Antonio broadcasting.
