HOUSTON, TX — Rising Tejano artist Bianca Ruiz has announced a unique collaboration with the Klein Oak High School Mariachi Band, directed by music educator Tanner Ledford. Together, they’ve recorded a special version of “Vete Con El” that merges Ruiz’s powerful Tejano vocals with the authenticity and energy of the student performers.
The partnership is especially meaningful as Klein Oak’s mariachi program and the young musicians are stepping into the professional recording world alongside Ruiz, gaining invaluable experience.
“Working with Bianca gives our students an opportunity they will never forget,” said Ledford. “My goal is for them to carry this insight and inspiration far beyond their instruments and into every part of their lives.”
For Ruiz, who began singing at age 10 and earned a Tejano Music Award nomination for Female Rising Star early in her career, the project is both a return to her roots and an investment in Tejano’s future. “I hope this collaboration inspires these students to chase their dreams,” she shared. “Music has the power to open doors, and I want them to see that success in life, just like in music, is built on passion, discipline, and perseverance.”
Fans will get the first chance to experience the collaboration live during a special showcase on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 5:45 p.m. at Mariscos Yucatan Seafood (10510 Northwest Fwy., Houston, TX). Ruiz and the Klein Oak Mariachi will debut “Vete Con El” along with other favorites from the talented band.

Ruiz, who stepped away from the stage to raise her children and build a career as an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, made a celebrated return to Tejano music in 2023. She has since performed alongside icons including Jay Perez, Ram Herrera, Bobby Pulido, Michael Salgado, and Jesse Turner of Grupo Siggno. Earlier this year, she released her debut single and music video “Bailar Para Olvidar.”
Fans can follow Bianca’s journey on TikTok (@bianca_sings) as she continues to rise as one of Tejano’s most promising voices.
Editor’s note: In an earlier version of this story Klein Oak HS mariachi program was incorrectly named as a band that went viral in a social media video at a Whataburger restaurant earlier this year. The schools that appeared in that video were Sam Houston HS (HISD) and Klein Collins HS (Klein ISD).
