San Antonio-born singer-songwriter Lidia Flores has released her latest single, “Amor Mío,” a deeply emotional ballad penned by the rising Tejano star herself. The powerful track was brought to life with musical arrangements by the legendary Tony Guerrero and his son Marco Guerrero, both from the iconic band La Sombra, and produced by Tony Guerrero.
“Amor Mío” was inspired by the story of a woman whose husband is deployed to serve the country, while she anxiously awaits his safe return at home. With its heartfelt lyrics and stirring instrumentation, the song captures the emotions of love, sacrifice, and hope. Now available on all streaming platforms, the single highlights Flores’ dedication to storytelling through music.
Lidia’s journey in music began at a young age, heavily influenced by both her stepfather and biological father, who were musicians. That early exposure sparked her passion and gave her the courage to perform. In 2012, she connected with Tejano ROOTS Hall of Famer Anthony Hernandez, who arranged some of her earliest songs and opened the doors to her career in Tejano music.
Inspired by Tejano icons like Selena, Elida Reyna, and others, Flores soon found herself performing at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair and various festivals and venues throughout San Antonio. She introduced fans to her original songs, including “Mucho Dolor,” “Falso Amor,” and “Mentiroso” from her debut album, The Wildflower.
With the release of “Amor Mío,” Flores continues to carry forward the Tejano tradition, blending her own voice with the guidance of some of the genre’s most respected names. Looking ahead, she plans to record more original music and hopes her journey will inspire future generations to keep Tejano music alive.
