Tejano powerhouse Elida Reyna Y Avante are making a powerful musical statement with the release of their latest single, “Tonto A Mi Lado”, now streaming on all digital music platforms. The two-time Latin Grammy-winning group delivers a fiery new anthem as they continue their emotional Farewell Tour 2025, marking a historic moment in their legendary career.
The bold track flips the traditional heartbreak narrative on its head, telling the story of a woman who breaks free from betrayal with strength and confidence. “This song speaks to every woman who’s ever been underestimated or taken for granted,” said Elida Reyna. “It’s not just about heartbreak—it’s about rediscovering your worth and moving forward with power.”
Written by Jesse Turner, frontman of the Latin Grammy-winning band Siggno, and co-arranged by Ricky Muñoz of Intocable, “Tonto A Mi Lado” fuses emotional storytelling with a fresh, dynamic sound that bridges generations of Tejano and Regional Mexican music. The result is a track that resonates deeply with longtime fans and new listeners alike.
The song was produced by Lalo Reyna III—Elida’s husband and the band’s longtime leader—with executive production by The Martinez Brothers of Freddie Records. Recorded at the iconic Legends Sound Studios in Corpus Christi, the single features expert engineering by Eli Molina, Lorenzo “Papo” Banda, and Mariano Herrera. Mixing and mastering were completed by Herrera, Reyna III, and Banda, ensuring a polished, high-impact sound.
As Elida Reyna Y Avante embark on their final tour across the U.S. and Mexico, “Tonto A Mi Lado” stands as a testament to their enduring passion and musical legacy. With decades of hits, unforgettable performances, and barrier-breaking contributions to the genre, the group continues to inspire with every note.
“Tonto A Mi Lado” is available now on these streaming platforms.
