Elida Reyna Y Avante Drop Bold New Single ‘Tonto A Mi Lado’ Amid Farewell Tour

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Tejano icon Elida Reyna Y Avante, the two-time Latin Grammy-winning group, is back with a powerful new single, “Tonto A Mi Lado,” released to Tejano and Regional Mexican radio stations across the U.S. and Mexico on July 9. The bold track arrives as the beloved band continues its emotional Farewell Tour 2025, giving fans a strong new anthem during a historic moment in their legacy.

“Tonto A Mi Lado” flips the heartbreak narrative, telling the story of a woman who refuses to be held back by betrayal. With fiery confidence, the lyrics send a clear message: she’s better off without the fool by her side.

“This song speaks to every woman who’s ever been underestimated or taken for granted,” shared Elida Reyna. “It’s not just about heartbreak—it’s about rediscovering your worth and moving forward with power.”

The track was written by Jesse Turner, the frontman of Latin Grammy-winning group Siggno, and co-arranged by Ricky Muñoz of the legendary Intocable. The result is a fiercely emotional track with a dynamic sound that bridges generations of Tejano and Regional Mexican music.

Produced by Lalo Reyna III—Elida’s husband and bandleader—the single also boasts executive production from The Martinez Brothers of Freddie Records. The recording sessions took place at the iconic Legends Sound Studios in Corpus Christi, engineered by Eli Molina, Lorenzo “Papo” Banda, and Mariano Herrera, with mixing and mastering by Herrera, Reyna III, and Banda.
