Tejano music fans have reason to celebrate—Devin Banda is officially back and better than ever. The former Tejano Idol runner-up has made her long-awaited return with a powerful new EP, Vamos a Brindar, and the official release of the music video for its standout single, “Me Olvidaré de Ti.”
The video, directed by Baldemar Garcia, sets a cinematic tone with sweeping beach scenes—one of Devin’s favorite backdrops—matching the heartfelt yet energetic essence of the song. With her signature cumbia style front and center, Devin delivers the kind of infectious rhythm and emotional storytelling that first made her a fan favorite back since Tejano Idol in 2012.

“That was the cumbia one that we have,” Banda told Tejano Nation about her latest single. “Cumbia was something that people are familiar with me singing.” The track’s relatable lyrics and catchy beat have quickly resonated with listeners, serving as a reminder of why Devin stood out in the Tejano music scene from the start.
After stepping away from the spotlight for four years, Devin is returning with renewed passion. “I’ve just been working. I’ve been working a lot… with COVID happening, I think that was the start of me kind of just settling down,” she reflected. But the time away only deepened her love for performing. “When I didn’t have it, I realized how much I loved it and how much I wanted to do it.”
Vamos a Brindar, released earlier this year, is a six-track EP filled with heart and collaboration. Created alongside her husband, Latin Grammy nominee Lucky Joe, as well as Latin Grammy winner Mariano Herrera and award-winning producer Gabriel Zavala, the project reflects a shared creative vision and a new chapter in Devin’s musical journey. “It was really fun,” she shared. “We got to experience that whole two artists joining one project together.”
Devin Banda’s return is a full-circle moment. Her 2017 debut album Unstoppable earned her a nomination for Best New Female Artist at the Tejano Music Awards. Now, with the release of Vamos a Brindar and the visually captivating video for “Me Olvidaré de Ti,” she proves that her talent hasn’t faded—it’s evolved.
As she prepares for live performances and the release of her full album later this year, Devin Banda isn’t just stepping back into the spotlight—she’s reclaiming it. Her voice, her passion, and her presence are once again making waves in Tejano music.
