SAN ANTONIO, TX — Alpha Media’s Tejano 95.7 has made significant changes to its programming, dropping its in-city simulcast with 103.3 K277CX and parting ways with afternoon host Bo Corona. According to Radio Insight, the 103.3 frequency has reverted to a simulcast of ESPN 1250 KZDC, focusing on sports content as of early February.
Bo Corona, a familiar voice in San Antonio radio, exited the station last week, following a tenure that began in February 2022 after the station’s flip to Tejano. Previously with KXTN-FM and KTFM, Corona’s departure is attributed to budget cuts, a decision he shared with the San Antonio Express News. In his statement, he expressed gratitude for the time spent interacting with his listeners, adding that it was the connections he built with his audience that he would miss the most.
As one of the station’s first on air personalities alongside San Antonio radio legend Jonny Ramirez, Corona helped launch Tejano 95.7 when it made its shift from Musica Mexicana station La Ley. The move to Tejano music came in response to strong listener feedback, as Alpha Media sought to cater to the local Tejano community.
Though his time at Tejano 95.7 has ended, Bo Corona remains a presence in the Tejano radio scene, continuing to host The Bo Corona Show on several stations across Texas, including Fierro HD in Dallas and Houston, La Raza 105.9 in Midland-Odessa, and KLUB Tejano 106.9 in Victoria, Texas, and weeknights on Super Tejano 102.1 FM in the Rio Grande Valley.
