Houston, TX – The Houston Texans have announced that Latin Grammy winner Bobby Pulido will perform during halftime of their playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The announcement was made on Wednesday, much to the delight of Tejano music fans and Texans supporters alike.
Pulido shared his excitement on social media, saying, “BIG NEWS, TEXANS FANS! As a proud fan of the Houston Texans, I couldn’t be more excited to announce that I’ll be performing at the halftime show during this Saturday’s playoff game at NRG Stadium. This is a dream come true—supporting my team on their playoff journey and bringing Tejano music to the field. Let’s crank up the energy and make this a game to remember! Texans fans, are you ready?! Let’s show the world how Houston does it!!! See you there–let’s go, Texans!”
Pulido will perform with the Texans Mariachi at NRG Stadium, marking a significant moment for Tejano music. He will be the second Tejano artist to perform during an NFL halftime show, with both performances taking place at Texans games, according to KlubTejano.com. The first Tejano halftime show was by La Mafia in September 2010, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
This performance comes on the heels of Pulido’s recent announcement in November of his farewell tour and retirement after a 30-year career. During the press conference with his family in the Rio Grande Valley, Pulido also revealed his ambition to run for public office in 2026.
Bobby Pulido is a celebrated Tejano music artist known for his smooth vocals and charismatic stage presence. He burst onto the scene in the mid-1990s with hits like “Desvelado” and “Enséñame.” Over his three-decade career, Pulido has released numerous albums, earning multiple awards and accolades, including a Latin Grammy. His contributions to Tejano music have solidified his status as a beloved figure in the genre.
The NFL Wild Card game between the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers is scheduled for 3:30 pm CT and will air on CBS. Fans are eagerly anticipating both the game and Pulido’s halftime performance, which promises to be a memorable highlight of the playoff season.
