TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — In a heartwarming display of community spirit, 12-year-old Brandon Malanche is one step closer to fulfilling his dream of performing at the renowned Mariachi Extravaganza in San Antonio, Texas next month. ABC4.com reports the Taylorsville community gathered for a special fundraiser to support Brandon’s trip, enjoying a night filled with music, food, and the spirit of generosity.
Brandon, along with his younger brother Bryan, performs in the mariachi duo Los Hermanos Dinamita. With a deep love for mariachi music, Brandon has been honing his skills since he was young. “The music is just beautiful, and the lyrics that go with it are even more beautiful,” he says with passion. His parents, Maribel Rios and Alejandro Malanche, couldn’t be prouder of his talent. Alejandro shared his excitement, recalling moments when Brandon’s performances were met with loud applause, especially during his appearance at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ “Luz de Naciones” event, where thousands of people witnessed his talent.
The trip to San Antonio is a significant milestone for Brandon, but it comes with a hefty price tag. The Malanche family estimates it will cost around $5,000 for the flight, accommodations, and the event’s participation. To help cover these expenses, the fundraiser held in Taylorsville saw local businesses and community members come together to show their support. In addition to the event, donations are also being accepted through Maribel’s Cash App at $MaribelRios99 and via Brandon’s official Facebook page.
