San Antonio, TX – The Tejano and Conjunto music community is coming together for a heartfelt cause at the Juan P. Moreno Conjunto Fest: Strum for Strength benefit concert. This special event will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Desperados 2.0, located at 6844 Ingram Road, San Antonio, Texas. Tickets are priced at $20, with all proceeds going to support the legendary Tejano musician Juan P. Moreno as he faces a challenging battle with chronic pancreatic disease.
The concert will feature an impressive lineup of Tejano and Conjunto music stars, including Los Palominos, Los Desperadoz, Los Chamacos, Masizzo, Max Baca y Los Texmaniacs, JR Gomez Y Los Conjunto Bandits, Tony “Tigre” Saenz, Cindy Ramos y su conjunto, Santiago Garza Y La Naturaleza, and Ruben Garza. These artists are coming together to show their support and raise funds for Moreno, who has been a beloved figure in the Tejano music scene for decades.
In July, Juan P. Moreno shared his diagnosis with fans, revealing that he has chronic pancreatic disease, with two tumors on his pancreas and a third tumor on one of his heart arteries. Despite the severity of his condition, Moreno remains determined and hopeful. “I’m never going to give up. Gonna fight it. I know I have God on my side,” he disclosed.
The benefit concert aims to provide financial assistance for Moreno’s medical expenses and to show solidarity within the Tejano music community. Fans and supporters are encouraged to attend and contribute to this noble cause while enjoying a night of incredible music and performances.
Join us at Desperados 2.0 on August 25th to support Juan P. Moreno and celebrate the strength and unity of the Tejano music family. Together, we can make a difference and help a legendary musician in his time of need.
