Fans of Tejano music are in for a treat as Jesse Turner of Siggno and Jennifer Peña have announced a collaboration that will include a duet and a tour. Turner shared the exciting news on his social media accounts, along with photos of the pair in the studio.
“Guess what? Something is happening and something big is coming very soon. The song is finished and we know you’re going to like it,” said Turner. The Siggno frontman added that Peña will join the Latin Grammy-winning band on tour in 2024 and asked fans to name the tour and what cities fans would like the tour to visit this year.
Peña recently signed with Turner’s management company JT Entertainment in December. She made the announcement after performing a song on stage with Siggno in San Antonio. Peña, who rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s as the “Princess of Tejano”, had taken a hiatus from music since 2007 to focus on her family and personal life. She made her return to music in October with the release of “Fuerte”, a powerful song that showcases her vocal range and emotional delivery.
The upcoming tour is expected to kick off in February and will visit several cities in the U.S. and Mexico. Fans can expect to hear the new duet, as well as classic hits from both artists. The duet’s title and release date have not been revealed yet, but Turner promised that it will be “something special”.
The collaboration between Turner and Peña is one of the most anticipated events in Tejano music history, as both artists have loyal fan bases and impressive careers. Turner has been the lead singer of Siggno since 2000, and has won several awards, including a Latin Grammy for Norteño Album in 2008. Peña has sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide, and has won four Latin Billboard Awards, two Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, and a Latin Grammy nomination.
