The Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA) will present the 43rd edition of the Tejano Music Awards next month in San Antonio, the most prestigious and longest-running event honoring Tejano music and its artists. The Tejano Music Awards showcases the best of Tejano music, a genre that blends Mexican, European, and American influences and reflects the rich and diverse culture of Texas.
This year, the Tejano Music Awards will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Boeing Center at Tech Port Arena. The event will feature a star-studded lineup of performers, who will entertain the audience with their hits and collaborations. The confirmed performers are Siggno, Joe Lopez, Ricardo Castillon Y La Diferenzia, Isabel Marie Sanchez, Angelica Y Moneda, Grupo Asalto, Suenatron, and Paula Deanda.
The highlight of the night will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Awards to two legendary figures of Tejano music: Joe Lopez and Humberto “Beto” Ramon. The Lifetime Achievement Awards recognize songwriters, performers, and musicians for their contributions to the Tejano music industry and their impact on the Tejano community.
Joe Lopez is one of the founding members of Grupo Mazz, one of the most influential and successful Tejano bands of all time. Lopez has won numerous awards and he is known for his distinctive voice and his romantic ballads.
Humberto “Beto” Ramon is a prolific songwriter and producer, who has written over 1,000 songs for various Tejano artists. Ramon has also won several awards and he is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Tejano music.
In a statement shared on social media, Ramon said, “I would like to thank God for all the blessings and for creating in me a talent that has given me a lifetime career. Thank you to the fans that listen to my music, to the artists that make it possible, and to the TTMA for honoring me with this award.”
The Tejano Music Awards is more than just an award show. It is a celebration of Tejano culture and history, a tribute to the artists who have shaped it, and a platform for the new generation of talent who will carry it forward. The TTMA invites all Tejano fans to join them on this memorable night to support Tejano music.
