
The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 24th annual Latin Grammy Awards on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Among the categories, the Best Tejano Album recognizes the excellence and diversity of the Tejano music genre, which blends elements of Mexican, European, and American musical traditions.
The five nominees for this year’s Best Tejano Album are:
Gary Hobbs “Sin Fin”: The veteran singer and songwriter returns with his 18th studio album, a collection of romantic ballads and upbeat cumbias that showcase his smooth vocals and versatile style.

Jay Perez “El Patron”: The former lead vocalist of the legendary band Los Musicales delivers his 16th solo album, a mix of Tejano, R&B, and pop influences that highlight his powerful voice and charisma.

Proyecto Insomnio “Super Heroes de Blanco”: The band from Austin, Texas pays tribute to the healthcare workers who fought against the COVID-19 pandemic with their latest album, a fusion of Tejano Rock with mixes of bachata and vallenato sounds that convey a message of hope and gratitude.

Juan Trevino “Para Empezar A Amar”: The Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer presents his latest solo album, a personal and intimate work that reflects his musical evolution and maturity as an artist.

Vilax “Ganas”: The female-led group receives their second Latin Grammy nomination with their second album, a fresh and energetic proposal that combines Tejano, Norteño, and country influences with a modern twist.

The winner of the Best Tejano Album award will be revealed at the 24th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, which will take place on November 16, 2023, in Sevilla, Spain. The 2023 Latin GRAMMYs marks the first-ever international telecast in the history of the organization and awards.
