SAN ANTONIO, Tex. — The Tejano Music Awards have announced that Joe Lopez will join the lineup of performers for the 43rd annual show, taking place on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.
Lopez, who recently returned to the stage after more than a decade away, will share the spotlight with some of the biggest names in Tejano music, including Siggno, Ricardo Castillon Y La Diferenzia, and Angelica Y Moneda.
Lopez was a co-founder of Grupo Mazz, one of the most popular groups in Tejano music, along with late Tejano icon Jimmy Gonzalez in the 1970s, and was the lead vocalist for several hits and albums.
The Tejano Music Awards are the most prestigious honors in the genre, recognizing the best artists, songs, albums, and more since 1980. The winners are determined by industry and fan voting. The public ballot is open until midnight on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Fans can vote online at tejanomusicawards.com.
