
If you are a fan of Tejano music, you probably know the name Avizo. They are one of the most influential and respected bands in the genre, with a history that spans four decades. And they are not slowing down anytime soon. In fact, the powerhouse band from Houston has a lot of exciting news to share with their loyal fans and friends.
Avizo has a new album on the way, Amigos y Familia, and it promises to be one of their best yet. The album features 11 tracks that showcase the band’s versatility and talent, as well as their collaborations with some of the biggest names in Tejano music including Avizo’s own Chris “Q” Quiroga, Boni Mauricio, Emilio Guerrero, Beto Ramon, Gary Guajardo and David Lee Garza, along with the signature sound of Avizo’s horns, keyboards, guitars and drums. The album is scheduled for release on August 28, 2023, from Powerhouse Records.
A special event is planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band.
