Angel Jimenez, a rising star from Kingsville, Texas, released her latest single “No Lo Pienses Tanto”, which means “Don’t Think Too Much” in English. The catchy and upbeat tune that showcases Jimenez’s powerful voice and passion was written by Jose Rosario and produced by the Lozano Brothers, Chex and Frank, from Revo Live Band.
Jimenez is no stranger to the spotlight, as she recently competed in the TV talent show Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, where she impressed the judges and the audience with her mariachi skills. She also performed and placed 1st in the college/adult category at the Voz de La Paloma mariachi competition and concert, a tribute to the late ranchera singer Beatriz Llamas, who was an inspiration for Jimenez and many other female mariachi singers.
Jimenez started singing at age 8, following in the footsteps of her grandfather, Abel Jimenez, who was also a mariachi singer. She is currently studying music education at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she is part of the first collegiate mariachi program in the state of Texas. She hopes to become a professional mariachi singer and a director of a mariachi education program in the future.
