SAN ANTONIO, TX — Tejano musician Lee Villarreal of Los Desperadoz lost his cool and appeared to punch an individual twice at a San Antonio venue. A newly released video showcased an altercation that took place between the award-winning musician and another man at the DJ booth or sound mixer next to the stage at Rancho 181 on Saturday (July 22).
In the video shared by HashtagPVT on Instagram, Villarreal can be seen arguing with a man next to the stage before punching the individual.
Los Desperadoz performed as scheduled at Rancho 181 as part of the Tejano Summer Concert Series, which also featured Ram Herrera and the Outlaw Band later in the evening.
Los Desperadoz have spent over 30 years in the Tejano music industry. Three generations of the Villarreal family have added their unique contributions to the texture of Tejano music since the 1950s, with Los Hermanos Villarreal to today’s band Los Desperadoz featuring brothers Mike, Lee and PJ.
Tejano Nation reached out to Los Desperadoz and Rancho 181 via email for statements on the incident but have not received a reply.
This is a developing story. Tejano Nation will have more details as information becomes available.
