
HOUSTON, TX — South TX Homies and ConXzion were two of the major winners at the 2nd annual Guadalupe Productions Conjunto Awards on Saturday (Jun. 24) in Houston, Texas.
South TX Homies won the three biggest awards of the night including Conjunto of the Year, Album of the Year for Una Promesa, and Single of the Year for the album’s title track.
ConXzion earned three awards, New and Upcoming Band of the Year, along with two musicians awards, Accordion Player of the Year for Justin Rodriguez, and tie for Bajo Player of the year for Bryan Guerrero.
Other notable winners include Ricky Guzman III as Male Vocalist of the Year and Marisela Hernandez as Female Vocalist of the Year.
Lifetime Achievement Awards honored Conjunto legends like Bernardo Martinez II, “JJ” Juan Jose Guadiano, Valentine Torres Sr, Freddy Tellez, George Tellez, Monico Cortez Sr, Mario Diaz Sr, Pete Diaz Jr, and Danny Ovalle for their years of hard work and dedication to the Conjunto music industry.
The night featured performances at El Social in Houston from Los Ybarra Boys, ConXzion, Los Monarcas, Los Tellez, Conjunto Senzzible, Ramon Lucio, Conjunto Firme, Max Ancira, and Kamila Y Bella Divas.
