David Olivarez is currently working on a new album and “El Tejano Soñador” shared details on his new music and revealed a story about his signature song, “El Soñador” (The Dreamer) in an interview with “The Bo Corona Show” this week.

“Sigo Soñando” is a follow-up to the story of Olivarez’s 1995 hit song “El Soñador.” Both songs were written by Fernando Silva.
“We just finished recording the song about a week and a half ago and now I’m here recording the video,” said Olivarez. “It’s all going to be released together.”
Olivarez, who was inducted into the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame in January, revealed he didn’t believe “El Soñador” would become a massive hit.
“I didn’t know and I didn’t think that it was going to be the success that it is today,” he said. “I was in the studio thinking, this is not the song. We need to go with another song. The promoter Fernando, and I was thinking, ‘Fernando you just want the song because you wrote it.’ And sometimes you just got to listen to the people around you.”
The iconic hit became the signature song for Olivarez.
The singer also gave advice to new artists who want to break into the Tejano music industry and much more in the interview. Listen to the full interview with David Olivarez on “The Bo Corona Show” below:
