Gary Hobbs is set to release his first album in three years. The highly-anticipated album, titled Sin Fin, is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 30, 2022. It will be the debut album for Hobbs with Freddie Records after the Tejano superstar signed with the legendary record label earlier this year.
Hobbs shared details on his new album, including why he decided to join Freddie Records after many years of releasing music under his own independent label AMMX Records, during an interview with The Jonny Ramirez Show on Tejano 95.7/103.3 FM in San Antonio, Texas.
“Everybody knows Freddie Records’ track record. Their artists get played on the radio, that’s something that I think I was sorely missing,” said Hobbs. “(I was) putting out great music, and then I write a lot of stuff, for it just to get on the shelf and stuff and I said, You know what they do their job and they do it well if I could just duplicate that and do my job, then we’re going to be fine’.”
Hobbs, who celebrates 40 years in the Tejano industry next year, added what fans can expect from the much-anticipated album that will feature 12 tracks.
“I’m very proud of it…excited,” he said. “At the end of the project, six or seven Tejano songs and three cumbias, a ballad, and then a collaboration with Don Freddie Martinez Sr., a song that he wrote.”
The lead single from the album is the mid-tempo Tejano cumbia “Que Daria,” which will have an accompanying music video soon.
Sin Fin from Gary Hobbs will be available on all digital music platforms on December 30, 2023. Listen to the full interview with Hobbs below.
