SEGUIN, TX — The Conjunto Cats of Seguin, Texas, features two generations of the Campos family, who continue to keep the sound of Conjunto music playing at venues all across the country.
At the Dia De Los Conjuntos Celebration, father and band leader Art Campos expressed his happiness and was grateful to be part of a show in their hometown, with his family. Playing together for over 10 years now, the Cats are a musically infused family playing for the love of Conjunto music.
The future generation of Conjunto music is here and it starts with these teens, Ezekiel “Zeke” Campos on accordion, drummer Nathan Alzalde, and Diego Campos on bass, with Art Campos as bajo player and band leader.
“We grew up with Conjunto music and it’s an honor and blessing to be performing with my two sons Zeke and Diego, and my adopted son Nathan, who is like my family,” said Art. “I think it’s really important to keep Conjunto music going and no better way to show and do it with my sons and family.”
The Conjunto Cats put on an amazing show with many of the traditional songs that everyone loves and their original music. They packed the famous Fiesta Ballroom with their powerful sound. Zeke killed his solo on “No me Conoces Aun” bolero romantico on accordion with his brawny, strapping sound, and Nathan brought the entire crowd to their feet with his indestructible drumming, while Diego played on with his resounding, booming bass, all while Art accompanied with his fierce and intense voice and bajo.
These Conjuntos Cats are surely a band on the rise and definitely need to be sought out. Follow them on all social media outlets, including their official Facebook page, to keep up with their latest music and shows.
