The singer earned Female Vocalist of the Year at the 41st Tejano Music Awards last year placing her in elite company with Tejano music icons like Selena, Laura Canales, Elida Reyna, Shelly Lares, and Stefani Montiel.
“To win that award was obviously something on my bucket list,” Destiny tells Tejano Music Awards TV. “To join the short list of ladies that have won that award is something that I hold near and dear to my heart. To me, it’s a great responsibility. To represent Stef, to represent Selena, Elida, Laura Canales. That’s not something small to me.”

Destiny released her highly-anticipated solo sophomore album, Dime Cómo Se Siente, earlier this year on April 22. “This album especially is something that I’m so very proud of because it came from my heart and it came from a time of despair, you know the pandemic was coming out, we didn’t know what we were going to do and it’s just been the light at the end of the tunnel for me,” she added. “Trying different things is the theme of this album.”
Dime Cómo Se Siente from Destiny Navaira is available on all digital music platforms.
