MERCEDES, TX — Two-time Latin GRAMMY winner Elida Reyna announces Elida Fest 2022. The inaugural music festival is the first of its kind in the United States and is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo in Mercedes, Texas.
Elida Fest 2022 will launch a music scholarship program to help students acquire instruments and an academic scholarship to help pay for their educational costs including tuition, books, and fees.
“The reason I want to do it is because I want to give back to my community, not just Mercedes, but the RGV, and really give back to the music industry,” Reyna told Tejano Nation in a recent interview. “Our goal is to get $10,000 scholarship money so that we can give back to the young generation. And really what my goal is to do is to buy instruments for kids who want to continue and who want to pursue a career in the music industry.”
