

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Tejano Music Recording Academy (TMRA) will donate musical instruments to benefit Southside High School’s Conjunto Cardenales. Los Cardenales is the first high school conjunto group in San Antonio created by music teacher Anna Bustamante.
The donation will be presented on May 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Southside High School auditorium, located at 19120 US Hwy 281.
Presenters will include TMRA President Francisco Chapa, two-time Premios Tejano Mundial Male Vocal Performance of the Year winner Jesse Turner of Siggno, Conjunto Cats accordionist Zeke Campos, brothers Tristan Ramos and Dylan Ramos, teen vocalist Mia Garcia, and Siggno Kid.
Turner is the lead vocalist and accordionist for Siggno, the chart-topping Tejano band from Santa Rosa, Texas, recognized for their Rockteno style. Zeke, Tristan, Dylan, and Mia are emerging young Tejano artists, the Tejano Next generation.
The musical instruments to be donated include a Hohner Accordion and Ymagen bajo sexto guitar. These instruments were presented to the TMRA at La Segunda Entrega de Los Premios Tejano Mundial 2022. The Hohner accordion was provided by Texas Latino accordionist Arthur “Tweet” Juarez and the bajo sexto by ES Ymagen Guitars.
