There is a current wave of powerful female voices taking over the usually male-dominated Tejano music industry from Tejano icons like Shelly Lares, Elida Reyna, Stefani Montiel, and more paving the way for emerging artists like Monica Saldivar, Isabel Marie Sanchez, Anjelique, and others. With that in mind, Tejano Nation, the news and media company dedicated to promoting and preserving Tejano culture, presents this month’s Totally Tejanas Playlist on Spotify.
The Totally Tejanas playlist showcases the latest hits from the fierce femmes of Tejano music including icons and emerging vocalists as curated by Tejano Nation music editors each month.
This month’s playlist cover is graced by teen singing sensation Kate Kristol. The 18-year-old singer-songwriter from McAllen, Texas, knew at a young age performing was what she was meant to do. Kate adds her unique style and unmistakable voice on a cover of “Acuérdate,” a song recorded by Ruth many years ago bringing the song to a new generation of fans.
The Totally Tejanas playlist also features the latest hits from Destiny Navaira, Shelly Lares, Elida Reyna, Stefani Montiel, and Isabel Marie Sanchez. Emerging stars are showcased as well including Sonja De La Paz, Demmi Garcia, Veronique Medrano, and Liz Garcia, plus new artists like Kate Kristol, Gabriella Martinez, Madison Pulido, Yoanna Martinez, and more.
Tejano Nation curates the Totally Tejanas playlist each month, as well as more Tejano music playlists including New Tejano, Squeezebox Jams, and Tejano Nation Top 20. Follow Tejano Nation on Spotify here.
