Two-time Latin GRAMMY-winning group Elida Reyna Y Avante has returned with the release of a new single and video, “Voy A Estar Bien,” a mid-tempo cumbia that features a message of female empowerment and remaining positive through difficult times.
“It’s an uplifting kind of song,” Elida Reyna tells Tejano Nation. “Basically about a girl that’s not treated the way she deserves to be treated in a relationship. She finally realizes she’s done and she deserves better. She doesn’t look back, she’s looking forward. In a lot of ways this song, you know, as far as ‘Voy A Estar Bien,’ I mean we’ve had a hell of two years with COVID and everything. It’s also a message, while we’re going through some hard times we’re all going to be okay.”
The song was co-written by emerging Mexican songwriters Miguel Zola and Adrian Guerra.
“They had given us another song that we fell in love with and when we called them to ask if we could record it, they had already given it to another band. So we were bummed about it and he says, ‘Don’t worry about it, we’re going to write you a better song,’ and I was like I don’t know, nothing could to what I heard,” said Reyna.
The songwriting duo wrote “Voy A Estar Bien” with Elida Reyna in mind.
“(They) sent it and we were blown away,” said Reyna. “We were in the studio the following week. That’s how excited we were to record it. We just knew that we had a good thing on our hands.”

Universally hailed as one of the top female vocalists in Latin music, and the current reigning Queen of Tejano Music with approximately 34 Tejano Music Awards, more than any other female artist and second only to late Tejano icon Jimmy Gonzalez, Elida Reyna launched her own cosmetics line, Colores, in 2019 and expanded it with the Tequilera Collection in 2020.
“We’re actually getting ready to release another batch of lipsticks. We’re hoping to put that out by the new year,” she said. “We did so well on the Tequilera collector’s set. I’m just having fun with it and the women seem to love it and what woman doesn’t love makeup? It’s been a lot of fun.”
Elida Reyna Y Avante plan to release their highly-anticipated new album in early 2022, but you can stream or download “Voy A Estar Bien” on all digital music platforms from Freddie Records.
