The progressive Norteño/Tejano cumbia with country rhythms showcases the story of infidelity in a relationship and the chance of forgiveness.

“The song talks about a person that’s been unfaithful in the relationship and he realizes that it’s the biggest mistake of his life so he’s trying to win her back,” Treviño tells Tejano Nation about his latest single. “He’s waiting for a yes or no for an answer, it’s a no, and he understands he’s going to walk away with this pain.”

The official music video for “Hey” was directed by J.C. Siller of Grupo Inicio and features Treviño and his signature hats and guitar.

Treviño planned to release an album this spring that featured covers of hit songs he wrote for other artists, but it has been delayed due to a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 for the composer and musician earlier this year.

“The whole plan was to release an album around March but since everything was delayed, I decided to just released the single and then start working on my plan,” he said.

“Hey” from Juan Treviño is available now to stream or download from your favorite digital music platform.
