Born out of a long desire to record an original Christmas song, the unprecedented events of the world this year brought the will to bring this to fruition for Lucy Rodriguez with her latest release “Esto es Navidad.”
The holiday tune spent years as an idea from Rodriguez choosing the right cozy romantic scene to present to songwriter Carlos A. Rojas Grajales. The magic behind “Esto es Navidad” lies in the source of inspiration for the Monterrey, Mexico, based songwriter.
“His children wanted to put up the Christmas tree early and as the family was working together, he began writing the song,” said Rodriguez. “Christmas memories are unique and I wanted to give my audience a way to reconnect with the essential, deeply personal nature of these memories.”
The for hope Rodriguez is “that this song will be reminiscent of being surrounded by those closest to our hearts, putting up the Christmas tree, great food, and don’t forget the fine wine!”
“I feel like we all need a little Christmas joy in our lives right now more than ever,” she added. “My hope is that the listener will be able to feel the cozy romanticness of the song when they listen.”
Rodriguez is currently working on new music with plans for release in February and a full album after that in 2021.
